Teapot Planting

Yesterday we wrapped up warmly and went out to the garden to plant some very fancy plant pots, they were in the shape of a teapot! We added some compost, planted our flower and then watered them carefully. Our teapot plants will be for sale for £2.50 at the School Fayre this Sunday.

What a waste!

To finish our ‘What a lot of rubbish!’ topic, Mrs Barrett had kindly arranged a visit to Bo’ness Recycling Facility to let P3 see how some of the waste is managed in Falkirk Council. We were all very excited and got prepared for a cold wet morning by wearing warm jackets, hats and wellies. We […]

Sorting and recycling

It was fun making the paper because it felt soggy and squishy, a little bit like porridge! We could make different shapes of paper like a rectangle, a square, a diamond or a star. We drew trees on our finished paper, but it was a little bit bumpy and lumpy. by Josh B and Jake

Our Eco Bag Designs

Then we designed our posters on A3 paper, some people designed a superhero and others made a bin character. We added colour by using crayons, pencils […]

Junk Model Monsters

Our task was to work together as a group to create a monster from junk materials. It was pretty tricky, especially when Mrs C said the monster had to be able to stand all by itself without any support! How do you think we got on?

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Visit

Mrs Barrett came to see us today. She told us more about how to reduce, reuse and recycle. She showed us a picture of a landfill site which we thought looked very smelly and yucky. We were told about the gas pollution which can be found at landfill sites. She had 3 bins – a […]

Vegetable Garden

Before the summer holidays, an eco garden was built and each class was given a vegetable patch to plant and look after. We visited the garden today and were quite surprised to see how different everything looked! We tasted some fresh peas from a pea pod and they were delicious, unfortunately some caterpillars thought the […]
